H.R. Specialist at work
Human Resource Specialists are in charge of all the hiring and firing of a company. They are also responsible for the job training and satisfaction of the employees. Specialists deal with Union disputes, and also the health safety of the employees. They are responsible for hiring an employee that will not waste company time, and therefore will not waste company money.
Human Resource Specialists work predominately in a nice, clean office. They work 40-50 hour weeks, 8-10 hour days. Specialists usually receive 10-15 vacation days yearly.

There are many character traits needed to be a Human Resource Specialist. Some traits include:

  • Considering the views, feelings, and behaviors of others
  • Asking questions and interviewing people
  • Understanding how businesses and people work
  • Dealing with paper work
  • Persuading and motivating others
  • Dealing with uncooperative people
  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of information systems
  • Volunteering
  • Supervising

There are many other traits, but these are some of the most important.
